Hi! I’m Jade Farrugia
I’m not just a geospatial analyst; I see myself primarily as a scientist. I founded Farrugia Geospatial because I identified a crucial gap in the environmental sector: a disconnect between complex field science and advanced data analysis.
My foundation is a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biogeochemistry, which provides a solid understanding of why aquatic systems are changing, from the chemistry in sediments to the nutrient cycles in water.
To scale this science to the landscape level, I completed a Master's in GIS & Earth Observation. I specialised in industry-leading modern tools like Google Earth Engine (GEE), Python, and Machine Learning.
This combined expertise is my greatest strength. I don't just show what’s happening, such as seagrass dieback or a flood plume; I can also investigate why it's happening.
My project portfolio spans the entire Catchment-to-Coast system, from strategic analysis of major river catchments like the Clarence to multi-sensor flood plume mapping in Moreton Bay and high-accuracy machine learning classification of marine habitats in Shark Bay.
This work is more than just a job to me; I am also the founder of the non-profit The Oceans Need Us. This mission is central to my business. When you partner with Farrugia Geospatial, you work with a specialist who is as deeply committed to a positive environmental outcome as you are.
As a 100% remote, cloud-native consultancy, my focus is on delivering exceptional data analysis and strategy without the high overheads of a traditional firm. I provide the evidence-based clarity you need to make critical management decisions.
I look forward to partnering with you.
Jade Farrugia Founder & Principal Analyst.
